Horse Drawn Wagon Rides - an enjoyable family experience
Pioneer Trails Tree Farm began Horse drawn wagon rides in the late 1990's. It has become a weekend tradition for numerous families from Northeastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
This year the Horse drawn wagon rides will be available for three Weekends:
November 26 & 27, December 3 & 4, and December 10 & 11.
The Horses drawn wagon rides begin at 10am on these Saturdays and Sundays, and end at 4pm. The farm opens on weekends at 9am, but the horses have to be transported to the tree farm and get hitched up to our unique "People Mover Wagon". Painted red with holiday decorations, the wagon and the bells on the horses add to the festive atmosphere at the tree farm.
No appointment is needed for the wagon rides and there is not a charge for riding the horse drawn or tractor drawn wagons. On our busiest days, three wagons circle the tree farm- but the ride most requested is the wagon with the horses. Bring your camera to capture the activities of this special day. We enjoy seeing your pictures and you can post them on our Facebook page.
The team of horses is provided by Don and Stacey Cannon; the Cannons have a farm in Hermitage, PA and operate their business, Goldenrun Clydesdales. Along with breeding and showing Clydesdales, they provide horse drawn services for special events, and in the fall hayrides at their farm. Their farm is located at 4816 Lamor Road, Hermitage PA 16148.
